Hepatitis B – A detailed summary
About Course
Hepatitis B affects almost 300 million people world wide. The infection may have serious consequences like decompensated liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma. The disease may become chronic in a large number of patients and may have different phase. Some of these phases may require only observation as the currently available treatment is not effective for these patients. While if missed the active stages of disease may progress and lead to consequences. Identification of these various stages is important in long term management of this disease. In this lesson I have tried to simplify the disease and omitted the finer details for the understanding of medical students and the post graduate students preparing for internal medicine.
